At a glance
- We use information to operate the Game, save and restore progress, run Rescue Rush leaderboards, send enabled notifications, understand gameplay, diagnose crashes, and support advertising and purchases.
- A Rescue Rush display name, rank, score, and related run information can be visible to other signed-in players.
- The Game does not request precise GPS location, contacts, camera, microphone, or photo-library access.
- You may request deletion of your Game account and associated cloud data by emailing us.
Galyo Games ("Galyo Games," "we," "us," or "our") develops and operates Save the Cat: Snake Puzzle (the "Game") on Android and iOS. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Game and its service providers process, why it is processed, how it may be shared, and the choices available to players.
1. Information we process
Information you provide
- Rescue Rush name: When you first use Rescue Rush, you may choose a public display name. We also store a lowercase version to help locate the correct profile for support and administration.
- Support communications: If you contact us, we process your email address, your message, and information you choose to provide.
Please do not use your full legal name, email address, or other sensitive information as your Rescue Rush display name.
Account and authentication information
When Firebase is available, the Game creates an anonymous Firebase account with a unique Firebase user ID. If you choose to connect an account, the Game uses Google Play Games on Android or Sign in with Apple on iOS.
Depending on the provider and your choices, we and Firebase may receive a provider-specific identifier, authentication token, profile/display name, and email address. An Apple email may be a private-relay address. We do not receive or store your Google or Apple password. The Firebase user ID is also associated with Analytics and Crashlytics records to support account restoration and technical investigation.
Gameplay, progress, and achievement information
The Game stores information needed to provide gameplay and restore progress, including:
- current and completed campaign board IDs and progression;
- Daily Challenge IDs, calendar-day completions, and completion history;
- active level state, attempt ID and revision, removed snakes, lives, timers, outcomes, and timestamps;
- hazard timing and retry-assistance state;
- achievement statistics, milestones, XP, and monthly trophies;
- paw balance and verified Remove Ads entitlement;
- session counts and engagement milestones; and
- Rescue Rush scores, elapsed time, and personal records.
Some settings and state are stored only on the device, including sound, haptic, language and notification preferences, local progress journals, ad cooldown state, and cached Rescue Rush data. Device backups may include local data depending on operating-system settings.
Public Rescue Rush leaderboard information
When you participate while authenticated, your chosen display name, rank, rescue score, and run time or tie-breaking information may be shown to other signed-in players. Records are keyed internally by an immutable Firebase user ID, not by the changeable name.
Usage and analytics information
Firebase Analytics may process sessions; campaign, Daily Challenge, and Rescue Rush activity; achievement unlocks; ad and notification events; account connection and cloud restoration; progression and player segment; app-instance identifiers; device and OS information; app version; language/locale; and approximate country or region inferred from IP address. We do not send the Rescue Rush display name to Analytics.
Crash and diagnostic information
Firebase Crashlytics may collect crash stack traces, exception details, diagnostic logs, timestamps, app version and identifier, device model, OS version, processor architecture, memory and disk information, foreground/background state, installation identifiers, and the Firebase user ID associated with the Game session.
Notification information
If notifications are available, Firebase Cloud Messaging may process a Firebase installation identifier, messaging token, topic subscription, permission and preference state, and notification delivery or open information. Notifications can be disabled in the Game and device settings.
Advertising information
The Game is transitioning to Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads) for interstitial and optional rewarded ads. Older versions may contain AppLovin MAX. The provider that processes advertising data depends on the installed version and whether advertising is enabled; including a provider in this policy does not mean both providers are active. When enabled, Google or another active advertising provider may process IP address and approximate location, advertising or other device/app identifiers, device and app information, ad requests, impressions, taps, video views, and crash and performance diagnostics. These data support ad delivery, measurement, analytics, and fraud prevention. Advertising identifiers are subject to device permissions, consent choices, and configuration.
Ads may be contextual or personalized depending on region, device settings, consent choices, and configuration. Rewarded ads are optional; declining one does not prevent ordinary gameplay, although the optional reward will not be granted.
Purchases and entitlements
If an in-app purchase is offered, Google Play or Apple processes the payment. We may receive transaction or receipt information needed to verify the purchase and entitlement. We do not receive your full payment-card number.
2. How we use information
- provide, maintain, and secure the Game;
- create and authenticate a Game identity;
- save, reconcile, and restore progress;
- operate Daily Challenges, achievements, Rescue Rush, and leaderboards;
- remember settings and deliver enabled notifications;
- measure engagement and improve levels, difficulty, features, and experience;
- diagnose crashes, errors, and performance problems;
- deliver and measure ads, grant rewards, manage frequency, and prevent abuse;
- verify and restore purchases and entitlements;
- respond to support, privacy, and security requests; and
- comply with law, enforce our terms, and protect players and others.
3. Legal bases for processing
Where EEA or UK GDPR or similar laws apply, we rely on:
- Performance of a contract to provide the Game, accounts, cloud saves, leaderboards, and requested features.
- Legitimate interests to understand and improve the Game, diagnose crashes, secure the service, prevent abuse, and keep appropriate records, balanced against player rights.
- Consent for notifications, personalized advertising, or other processing where consent is required. Consent may be withdrawn through available in-game, provider, or device controls.
- Legal obligation where processing or retention is required by law.
5. Advertising and privacy choices
In versions using AdMob, Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) presents regional privacy messages when applicable. These messages explain the available consent and opt-out choices, including choices for personalized advertising and, where applicable, sale, sharing, or targeted advertising. Use the advertising privacy choices in the Game’s Settings, when available, to review or change your decision. Older versions may provide the privacy controls supported by their active provider. You can also use Android or iOS settings to reset or delete an advertising identifier or restrict tracking. On iOS, access to the IDFA requires permission through Apple’s tracking prompt. Declining an optional rewarded ad does not prevent ordinary gameplay. Ads that are not personalized may still process information for delivery, measurement, security, and fraud prevention.
See how Google uses information from apps that use its services, Google’s Privacy Policy, and, for applicable older versions, AppLovin’s Privacy Policy.
6. Notifications and account choices
- Notifications: Turn them off in the Game or device settings. The Game will try to unsubscribe an opted-out device from its reminder topic.
- Account connection: Google Play Games or Apple connection is optional but enables reliable cross-install and cross-device restore. Anonymous identity alone generally cannot be restored after uninstall or app-data clearing.
- Provider access: Review or revoke access through Google or Apple account settings. Revocation alone does not delete Firebase Game data; use the deletion process below.
- Rush name: Edit it from the Rescue Rush leaderboard.
7. Data retention
We retain information only as long as reasonably necessary to provide the service, restore progress, operate leaderboards, comply with law, resolve disputes, and protect the Game.
- Local data: until cleared, overwritten, or the Game is removed, subject to device backups.
- Cloud progress, account records, achievements, entitlements, profiles, and leaderboards: while the account is active or until a verified deletion request is completed.
- Firebase Authentication and installation data: according to Firebase service rules. After an applicable deletion call, removal from live and backup systems may take up to 180 days.
- Crashlytics: generally retained for 90 days before Firebase's removal process begins.
- Analytics: according to configured Firebase/Google Analytics retention settings; aggregated or de-identified reports may remain longer.
- Advertising and consent data: Google and other active providers retain data according to their privacy policies, purposes, and applicable requirements. Retention can differ by data type; we do not set one retention period for all provider-held advertising data.
- Purchase/legal records: for periods required by tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, consumer-protection, or other laws.
- Support communications: as long as needed to resolve and document the request.
We may retain aggregated or de-identified information that can no longer reasonably identify a player.
8. Account and data deletion
Email galyogames@gmail.com with the subject "Save the Cat - Account and Data Deletion."
Include the Support ID shown in the Game's Settings menu (if available), your platform, connected provider, Rescue Rush name if configured, and enough non-sensitive information to locate and verify the account. Do not send passwords, payment-card numbers, or authentication tokens. A Support ID helps us locate the correct record, but possession of it alone does not authorize deletion. We may request reasonable verification to prevent fraudulent deletion.
A verified request will delete or anonymize, as applicable, the Firebase Game identity and associated cloud-save, engagement, public-profile, Daily Challenge, achievement, Rescue Rush, and entitlement data under our control. It does not delete Google, Apple, or Play Games accounts or provider-controlled data. We aim to complete verified requests within 30 days or the legally required period. Limited data may remain where legally required, necessary for backup deletion, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, or legal claims.
Clearing app data or uninstalling removes local data from that device but does not necessarily delete cloud data.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of personal information; object to or restrict processing; withdraw consent; opt out of sale, sharing, or targeted advertising; appeal a denied request; or complain to a regulator.
Contact galyogames@gmail.com to exercise an applicable right. We will not discriminate against you for doing so. Verification may be required, and requests may be limited where law permits.
10. Children's privacy
The Game is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13, or under the minimum age at which a person may consent to data processing in their country. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children below the applicable age. If you believe a child provided personal information, email galyogames@gmail.com so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.
11. International processing
Galyo Games and its providers may process information outside a player's country. Firebase Authentication operates from United States data centers, while other Firebase and advertising services may use global infrastructure. Where required, we rely on appropriate legal mechanisms and safeguards for international transfers.
12. Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information. Cloud data is transmitted using encrypted connections, and Firebase states that Firestore, Authentication, Cloud Messaging, and Crashlytics encrypt applicable data at rest. Access is restricted through authenticated Firebase security rules and administrative controls. No method is completely secure, so absolute security cannot be guaranteed.
13. Third-party privacy information
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the Game, providers, or legal requirements change. We will publish the updated policy with a revised date and provide additional notice where required.
